Our lovely student teacher has been doing a 2 week mini unit about bread while she is here. Yesterday Children learnt about yeast and the role that it plays in helping bread to rise. Children got to smell and touch some dry yeast then we talked about how we needed to wake it up because it was sleeping so we had to give it some food and water.
Here they are touching and smelling the yeast and sugar - they did not like the smell of the yeast!!
